EYELASH EXTENSIONS

What are eyelash extensions? Eyelash Extensions are a popular service that lengthens and thickens your own natural lashes. They are strands of synthetic eyelashes that are tapered and curved to replicate a natural lash. They are applied to each individual eyelash with a specially designed bonding agent for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. They are virtually weightless and will not damage your natural lash if you choose to wear them permanently.

What are volume lash extensions? Russian volume, also known as 3D, 4D, 5D etc. is an advanced application technique that boosts coverage and provides a soft voluminous appearance using the industries lightest weight extensions; a hand-made bouquet of lashes is meticulously created and placed on to each lash.

What kind of lashes do you use? What is the difference?  Silk and faux mink lashes are both available depending on the clients desired look and needs. All lashes come in a variety of lengths and diameters. Silk lashes are a high quality, light weight synthetic lash that are very durable. Faux mink have a more natural taper and mimic real mink, they are the lightest, softest lashes available. Real mink does not hold its curl and are not as durable as faux mink, making faux mink a better choice.

Will the application be harmful to my natural lashes? Not at all. When done properly, eyelash extensions are applied on your own natural lashes and will grow out with the natural lash until it sheds naturally.

How long will a set of eyelash extensions last? Eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your lashes (60-90 days). Everyone will vary in how often they return for fills based day to day activities, use of other products around their eyes and overall care for them. Most clients return around 3 weeks to keep a full look. Keeping a full look will also depend on the number of natural lashes a client has.

Can I apply mascara to my eyelash extensions? Yes, although it will not be required when wearing extensions since they give the look of darker, thicker lashes. Only water-based, oil free mascara should be used. Lash extension approved mascara may be purchased in salon.

Can I swim, shower or exercise while wearing eyelash extensions? Yes, after you wait the initial 12 hour curing time you may return to normal activities.

How long will it take to apply eyelash extensions and how is it done? A full set of eyelash extensions can take anywhere from 1 and 1/2 hours to 2, depending on which lash set is done and how many natural lashes a client has.

Are eyelash extensions suitable for everyone? Anyone of any age and lifestyle can wear them. Lashes are customized based on clients natural lash and desired look. They will look seamless and feel completely natural to your eye and can be styled as subtle or dramatic as you wish.

How do I take care of my eyelash extensions?

Do not get lashes wet for 12 hours after application.

Avoid hot steam or sauna.

Do not rub your eyes or sleep directly on your face.

Only apply lash extension approved mascara to the tips of lash extensions.

Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler.

Do not pick or pull on your lashes.

Use only oil-free products near your eyes.

Wash natural oils and makeup off your eyelids nightly with eyelash extension cleanser.

WAXING & SUGARING

What type of wax do you use?  Different areas and types of hair may call for different types of wax. A cream based strip wax designed for sensitive skin, a natural hard wax (with no plastics, dyes, or fragrances), and an organic sugar paste are all on hand to use based on clients' needs.

Does waxing hurt? Although waxing is never described as pleasant, most clients note that the process is much less painful than they anticipated. Being an experienced aesthetician, it will ensure that your hair removal treatment is as quick and painless as possible. Treatments also become less painful with continued waxing (or sugaring) as the hair generally grows back thinner each time. It is recommended to return before 5 weeks, and you may come as early as 3 for sugaring.

How do I prepare for my wax or sugaring? It is best to stop shaving at least 2 weeks (14 days) prior to waxing and sugaring. This ensures a more successful first time wax as the hairs tend to be the most stubborn the first treatment. Also, exfoliating and moisturizing regularly before your wax will also ensure the hair and skin are prepped for the service.

How do I prevent ingrown hairs? Starting your exfoliating and moisturizing routine 48 hours after your treatment is the best way to avoid bumps and ingrown hairs. A gentle exfoliation of dry, dead skin cells allows the new, finer hairs to grow naturally and not get caught beneath the skin. For exfoliating I recommend using a gentle sugar scrub about every other day.

Do not:

Exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Do not swim, use sauna, or tan for 48 hours after treatment.

Do not use lotions on area.

Do not exfoliate immediately after hair removal treatment.
